METALLICA Subject Of Online Prank, Thousands Of Gullible Non-Fans Fooled

Here's hoping that this will put a stop to the countless e-mails we have received on this subject: A fake METALLICA news story currently making the rounds via the Internet has the San Francisco metallers suing Canadian rockers UNFAITH over "unsanctioned usage of two chords METALLICA have been using since 1982: E and F." Satirical online magazine ScoopThis.com was responsible for concocting the unbelievable tale, which has been picked up by several legitimate news outlets, including Ananova, MacDailyNews.com (both articles since removed),MSNBC.com and DotMusic.com. Check out the FAKE story from "MTV.com" and "Metallica.com".
